Community Conversations :: Marietta
Community Conversations is a series of community forums where citizens can meet with local officials in a casual mixer setting to ask questions. These events are a joint effort of LWV MCC Young Voices and Cobb Collaborative. The first forum is in Marietta, GA.
Along with co-hosting, LWV MCC will have a Voter Information table at the event. We will hand out information about registration, elections and voting in Georgia. We’ll also direct attendees at the event, along with our event partners from Cobb Collaborative.

Community Conversations :: Kennesaw
The second form in the Community Conversations series takes place in Kennesaw. Once again, LWV MCC will have a Voter Information table with information about registration, elections and voting in Georgia.

Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast
and Family Fun Day
Join us at this event raising funds for the important literacy programs of the Greater South Cobb Kiwanis. LWV MCC knows that supporting literacy supports having an educated, civically active community.
We’re also supporting civic literacy. We will have a voter information and education table at the event. We need volunteers to come out and help while they have fun.

5th Annual Before Slavery Sankofa Festival
The Sankofa Festival is a free, family-friendly outdoor experience, celebrating African culture, community and history. LWV MCC will have a voter education & registration table at the event.

Voting Rights Act
61st Anniversary Commemoration
August 6, 2026 was the Anniversary of the signing of the Voting Rights Act. The Act and the activists who fought for its passage were honored in an event at Grace City Church in Austell, GA. The event was hosted by Grace City Church, the Coalition for the People's Agenda of Cobb County, the Southern Christian Leadership Council and the League of Women Voters of Marietta-Cobb County.
Speakers shared their remembrances of the struggle around the VRA, especially in the South. Tbey also stressed the importance of keeping up the hard work of protecting voter access in current times. We thank everyone who spoke out about these critical issues:
