Birthdays

If you wish to have your child celebrate his or her birthday in class, instead of sending in a sugary treat for his or her birthday, you may have your child treat our class to a book. If a family member wishes to come in during the day to read the book to the class, please email me in advance to set up a time. You may also send the book with your child so that he or she can present it to the class. This book would become a permanent part of our classroom library, with an inscription showing your child’s name. 

If your child’s birthday is in the summer, then he or she may celebrate it in class during the last week of school. 

Please do not send any goodies/toys/food items. We will always acknowledge birthdays by singing “Happy Birthday”  and giving students a pencil and a sticker. 

Please note that you are not obligated to do any of the above.
