Mr. Morales began his musical studies in 7th grade at Rancho Santa Margarita Intermediate School (RSM) playing euphonium. It was while at RSM that he fell in love with music. After attending Trabuco Hills High School and Centennial High School (where he switched to french horn), Mr. Morales received his B.A. in Music Education from California State University, Bakersfield. Upon completion of his degree, he then attended California State University, Fullerton to earn his teaching credential. Mr. Morales then earned his MA in Music Education from the American Band College of Central Washington University in 2021. Mr. Morales first served as Director of Instrumental Music at James Curran Middle School in Bakersfield, CA from 2014-2020 and then as Director of Instrumental Music at Chipman Junior High School in Bakersfield, CA from 2020-2024. Currently, Mr. Morales is one of two music directors at A.E. Wright Middle School in Calabasas, CA where he directs the beginning/intermediate/advanced and strings, advanced choir, wind ensemble, and beginning band.
Mr. Militello, AEW/AHS Music Teacher
Mr. Militello is an active performer and dedicated music educator serving both Agoura High School and AE Wright Middle School. A versatile horn player and passionate teacher, Tommy brings years of experience working with students of all levels, from elementary school beginners to advanced high school musicians.
As a performer, Tommy has appeared with top-tier ensembles including the Toledo Symphony, Flint Symphony, Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings, and the Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra. He’s performed internationally at festivals in Italy and Denmark, including the International Lyric Academy and the Thy Chamber Music Festival. Notably, Tommy has shared the stage with Kristin Chenoweth and opened for Yuja Wang with his internationally recognized woodwind quintet.
Tommy is also deeply involved in experimental and contemporary music. He performs regularly with SicNarf, a 16-piece experimental jazz big band based in Southern California, with shows at venues like The Grape in Ventura and The Baked Potato in Los Angeles. In addition, Tommy enjoys collaborating with music producers, recording horn parts for a variety of creative projects and genres.
Prior to joining LVUSD, Tommy led band programs at Banyan, Cypress, and EARThS Magnet Elementary Schools, and served as a brass and horn specialist at schools across Ventura and Los Angeles Counties, including Chaparral Middle School, Los Cerritos Middle School, and Westlake High School.
Tommy received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Southern California and his Master of Music from the University of Michigan. A proud alum of Thousand Oaks High School, he was Drum Major of the Lancer Marching Band and was selected as Drum Major for the U.S. Army All-American High School Marching Band.
When he’s not in the classroom or on stage, Tommy teaches a private horn studio where his students regularly receive high praise and perform in honor groups across the state.
