Students who wish to be placed in Advanced OR Intermediate Orchestra should prepare the following audition materials. Students will record a video of themselves and send it to Mr. Morales via email or Google Drive by 5/30/2026.

Advanced Orchestra students should prepare the following:

• 4 major scales 

  • D Major (2 octaves)

  • A Major (2 octaves)

  • F Major (2 Octaves)

  • Bb Major (2 Octaves)

  • Violins: Evil Eye and the Hideous Heart- Measures 27-37 and 98-105

  • Violas: Evil Eye and the Hideous Heart- Measures 39-46, and 95-101

  • Cellos: Evil Eye and the Hideous Heart- Measures 55-62 and 96-105 

  • Basses: Evil Eye and the Hideous Heart- Measures 1-14, 23-26, and 51-54 

• Prepared Piece

  • This is a piece you prepare and select yourself. This should be 45-60 seconds in length. This is something that show your best ability. 

Intermediate Orchestra students should prepare the following:

• 3 major scales 

  • G Major (2 octaves for violin, 1 octave for all others)

  • D Major (1 octave)

  • C Major (1 octave)

  • This is a piece you prepare and select yourself. This should be 30-45 seconds in length.
