Morning Routine/Kindergarten Yard Supervision

Beginning Thursday, August 25: The drop-off gate is the same as yesterday. Adult supervision on the play yard begins at 7:45 am. If your child arrives between 7:45-8:00, he/she will be directed to a quiet activity until 8:00. At 8:00, children will be allowed to play on the K yard.

Say your goodbyes at the gate, reminding your child to place his/her backpack against the gate before playing (I will show them where this is, but it may take a few days to learn). At 8:00, there will be a Journeys or Kinder teacher on the yard to help with supervision. For the safety of your child, you are not permitted to drop off before 7:45 am. We also ask that parents do not linger and watch the children outside playing on the K yard. This is to ensure that strangers are not lingering in front of the school. Thanks for understanding and respecting the rules!

If an older sibling (must be a Willow student) is being dropped off with your Kinder kiddo, he/she may enter campus at the same gate, pass through the K yard and go directly to the "big yard".

Please plan to pick your child up at our designated pick up location (courtyard). An adult on duty will notice your pick up placard (color-coded by teacher) and call your student over to you. If you are running late, your child will be walked to the office to wait for you there. Please complete the “Pick-up Procedures” sheet in the your child's folder, so that I know who will pick up your child each day.

Your child will be eating snack ONLY on minimum days, so please make sure to pack something hearty and healthy to keep them going.

If your child is buying lunch on M, T, TH, or F , please (1) place a note inside the pocket on the front of his/her folder so that I see it in the morning, and (2) make sure to remind him/her at the drop-off gate that day. This procedure is only for students who are having school lunch occasionally vs. daily (refer lunch note in Back and Forth folder for more information).

Snack vs. Lunch: Label your child's snack so that he/she knows what to eat for snack vs. for lunch. Be sure your child knows to only eat the snack portion at snack time. Kinder kiddos are famous for eating everything at snack time and then not having anything to eat at lunchtime!

As of today, we do not know when Friday Assemblies will begin. When assemblies begin, our class will be joining the rest of the Willow students for the weekly Friday Assembly. More information will be disseminated to you as the date approaches. In the meantime, drop-off procedures on Fridays are the same as the rest of the week.
