Our new salt shampoos were inspired by the original salt shampoo...Big Shampoo!

Where did it all begin?

 In the summer of 2003 (the same year Sex Bomb was released), we also launched an additional edition of the Lush Times to celebrate new haircare inventions, many of which were specifically designed for hard water areas. Big Shampoo was one of the new products launched that year. Whether your water was soft or hard, this product was meant to do its job of adding volume and shine no matter what, thanks to its 50% salt. 

Why salt?

 Exfoliating, cleansing, and stimulating for the scalp, coarse sea salt gives volume and shine to the hair.

 There are different sources of salt: some come from the sea (or saltwater lakes) and are obtained by evaporation of water, others are extracted from ores. Sea salt is less processed than conventional table salt, which means that it has retained all of its hydration and the various minerals that were there when it was harvested. Sea salt is a natural preservative that protects products against microorganisms when used in sufficient quantity, salt is alkali and creates a surface that is too difficult for microbes to grow on.
