What School Counselors Do:
Advocate for all students
Support students academic, social, and emotional learning
Provide an equitable and inclusive learning enviroment
Help students apply life skills and managing their emotions
Improve equity, access, achievement, and opportunities for all students
Collect and analyze data to identify and meet the needs, issues, and challenges students face
Collaborate and communicate with teachers and families for student success
Individual Counseling
-One-on-one support
-Short term counseling sessions to meet students individualized needs
Small Group Counseling
-Involves 4 to 6 students
-Students who have similar needs that can be addressed in a group setting
Classroom Guidance Lessons
-Teach social emotional learning lessons inside a classroom
-Address needs as a whole
