Districts in Texas may decide locally whether to accept gifted and talented identification and assessments from other districts without having the student be assessed again.
Please notify the student's campus when transferring to another district. Your student's gifted and talented identification and assessment information will be sent to the new district along with other student information.
The new district will decide whether to accept the assessment results or retest the student.
To transfer a student into Lufkin ISD who is currently identified and currently served in gifted and talented services at another district, the office of Advanced Academics must receive identification and assessment information from the previous district.
Lufkin ISD will examine the assessment information to determine whether the identifying district used similar measures as Lufkin ISD.
A student may not register for any gifted and talented primary/elementary campus or gifted and talented-specific courses at LMS or LHS without having assessment measures examined first.
Please call 936-630-4254 about where to send assessment information.
