If the Gifted and Talented Placement Committee determines that a child does not currently require gifted and talented services, a parent may appeal the decision prior to the deadline.

The appeal requires parents to provide additional artifacts that demonstrate the student's learning cannot be addressed anywhere but gifted and talented services as a result of the child's remarkably high abilities compared to other students the same age, environment, or experience.
