During their senior year, students embark on a journey to decide their next steps after graduating high school. Applying for colleges, universities, scholarships, and jobs can be overwhelming. To ease this process, LHS GEAR UP has provided a Senior Year Timeline.
All LHS Seniors will complete the FAFSA before graduation, and the forms will not be available until December 2023. Students can prepare for the process and learn more by clicking here and by contacting the LHS Go Center at (936)633-7592.
Going to college or university can be an exciting but costly experience. However, there's no need to worry because financial aid and scholarships are available to help you out!
Financial aid is typically based on financial need and may require repayment. On the other hand, scholarships are often given based on merit or achievement and don't need to be paid back.
When considering ways to cover your education costs, take the time to research and find the best fit and consider combining both financial aid and scholarships.

The TSI Assessment (TSIA) is a way for Texas public institutions of higher education to find out if students are prepared for college-level coursework in English Language Arts Reading (ELAR) and mathematics. If you meet certain college readiness benchmarks on tests like the SAT, ACT, or STAAR English III or Algebra II EOCs, or complete the high school College Preparatory Course, you won't have to take this assessment.
