Students are expected to bring the basics such as notebooks, pens and pencils with them to school each day. Teachers will not be able to lend out these items as we limit touch points between students, teachers and other students.
Each student should, or will have, a Lubbock ISD issued Chromebook which will need to be brought to school each day charged and ready to operate.
Face-to-face instruction features the most robust support for students. Particular attention to health and safety will be addressed by multiple protocols, including:
Sanitizing practices, such as frequent cleaning of high touch point areas, desks and chairs
Expanded service from GermBlast in addition to our regular cleaning schedule
No sharing of student supplies or resources
Hand sanitizing stations throughout the buildings
Adults required to wear masks
Students older than age 10 will wear face masks
Social distancing, including development of schedules that limit large groups and modified transportation
Screening protocols for staff, students, and visitors
Limited face-to-face meetings. Meetings will require an appointment
Face masks are required anytime students are not more than 6 feet apart.
Each student will receive one reusable cloth face mask, but may wear a personal mask in accordance with dress code standards.
Refusal to wear a mask will result in one opportunity to self-correct; should student still refuse, they will be sent home to complete the day's coursework online. Continued noncompliance will result in a shift to entirely virtual learning.
Hand-washing and other disinfecting practices are imperative in stopping the spread of viruses.
Students will be encouraged to sanitize their hands as they enter the building, after they touch high contact surfaces (such as door handles, faucets, doors, etc.), and before they enter classrooms.
Students should wipe down their own desk/chair before they move to the next class.
