The UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation is our annual "STAAR-like" evaluation for all orchestras with the exception of Beginner Strings. Students that perform for the UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation are rated by a panel of judges (3 on each panel) for their Concert Performance (3 prepared works) and for Sight-Reading (a piece never performed, read, or seen by members of the ensemble). Ensembles are rated by each judge on a Division 1 to Division 5 rating, with Division 1 being the highest possible rating. Ensembles that receive an average of a Division 1 rating for Concert and an average of a Division 1 rating for Sight-Reading are awarded SWEEPSTAKES, the most coveted rating for this event. Parents and family members are welcome and encouraged to attend the event.
Specific dates, times, and itinerary items will be available through Cut Time.
Attire: LISD Concert Dress with dress flats (be mindful of the color of undergarment shoulder straps; for musicians, black attire is best)
Resources: All students will need their "home" instrument and music.
