CORONADO ORCHESTRAS
WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL SITE OF THE CORONADO HIGH SCHOOL ORCHESTRAS
A couple of action items:
Students must return all of the 2021-2022 Orchestra Forms by September 3rd. Students can pick up paper copies in the Orchestra room or download them from the Parent and Student tabs.
Parents: please visit the Parent Sponsors tab and let us know how you can help this year! There is also a link to the LISD Background Check for our parents who'd like to volunteer at orchestra events.
Thank you so much for everything that you do! It's going to be a great school year!
The Coronado High School Orchestra has a long, proud history of success. Few orchestras in the state of Texas have a record of 51 years of consecutive UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Sweepstakes. Every year since 1969, the Mustang Orchestras have proudly brought home a sweepstakes trophy.
The Coronado High School Orchestra program is designed to:
Develop and nurture a foremost appreciation of music, including orchestral literature, solo and chamber ensemble repertoire, and popular music.
Train students to breakthrough technical and performance abilities that inspire high-quality music-making. Students are encouraged to make music as a hobby or potential profession beyond their tenure at Coronado High School. Furthermore, students are encouraged to advocate for future generations of music education and performance.
Assist students in growing into responsible and successful members of society; able to contribute both individually and as a member of a group while possessing the essential characteristics of integrity, dependability and loyalty.
