LTPS recognizes the unique abilities and potential of every student, as well as the importance of providing opportunities.  The K-3 Enrichment & Gifted Education programming focuses on fostering creativity, 21st century critical thinking skills and problem solving.  Students are encouraged to explore their interests, collaborate with peers, make connections, and learn the traits and behaviors of GOOD THINKERS. The Enrichment Specialist/Gifted Education teacher provides whole group Enrichment lessons for K-3 students focused on these areas, while working closely with classroom teachers to make sure all students are getting what they need as learners.  

Advanced academics are handled through extension, enrichment and differentiation in the regular classroom. Pull out challenge groups are flexible, and provided on an as needed basis, and encourage students to explore interests and academics on a deeper level, rather than provide grade level acceleration.
