Improvisation Practice Guide

1. Start by playing the root of each chord

2. Then learn your arpeggios (root, 3rd, 5th)

3. Play them in whole notes, then halves, then quarters

4. Play along with slow and medium backing tracks to keep yourself in line with the chord changes
