In Jazz Band, we continue to work on ensemble skills including sound production, ear training, and playing as an entire group. We start to learn about specific aspects of jazz music and how they relate to our instrument and the ensemble as a whole.
One of the unique tenets of Jazz Band is the element of improvisation. Improvisation is following a guideline of musical structure and creating your own music in real time. Improvisation is a skill that takes practice, but is able to be done by any musician on any instrument! Check out the video on improvisation below!
