Daily practice is vital to advancing your musical skills and knowledge. Students will be expected to complete regular practice assignments and frequently will be asked to demonstrate what they have accomplished in their home practice. Practice time is most effective if you set clear, specific goals for each session. Practice in a place that is quiet, comfortable, and free from distraction. A good practice session includes a methodical warm-up, technique exercises, scales, and music. Each day, your director will assign music and/or exercises for home practice. Like other academic classes, your homework for band is to study and play your assignments until you can perform them skillfully.
