Our Bands

Honors Band is the premier ensemble of the BCMS band program and is considered the varsity group for concert competitions.  Membership is open to all students with at least one year of experience performing in a school band program.  Honors Band represents the band program at school events such as Veteran’s Day and members participate in region band auditions, solo and ensemble festival(s), pep rallies, football game performances, and traditional concerts.

Symphonic Band is one of two non-varsity bands and is designed for students with less experience. Membership is open to students with at least one year of experience performing in a school band program. Symphonic Band members are eligible to participate in region band auditions, perform at solo and ensemble festival(s), pep rallies, football games, and traditional concerts. 

Beginning Band is designed for students with limited or no experience on a band instrument. Students learn instrument assembly, tone production, basic musicianship, and ensemble skills.  Performance opportunities include solo and ensemble festival(s), a winter concert, and a spring concert.
