Our History

Community Connections was born at LS around 2004, based on Sarah Greeley’s response to parents’ concerns and search for advice about their children and around substance use and sexuality. Some time later, David Bloom joined her and together they formalized the group as what we see nowadays. 

Sarah Greeley, a Wellness teacher at LS and part of the team teaching Health Issues to our students, decided then to open up the same curriculum used with students to parents and give them a night to put them through the same activities the students were doing in a way to create a partnership between the school, parents and students. In her mind, “there is no way we can make a BIG change if our kids, we [the] non-parent adults who love the kids, and [the] parents are not all involved together.”
