Daily – in class & practice:

~During instruction, take good notes and ask questions (as needed).

~USE your class notes when completing your daily homework by:

~Review examples before you start working on the assignment

~Review specific examples when you get stuck on a problem on the assignment

~Confirm you are showing work as expected (like the examples we did in class!)

~Do your practice assignment every day - your focus should be on understanding the material, not just finishing the assignment.

~ASK QUESTIONS!

~Seek help during SOAR!

Daily - Grading Practice:

~Use RED ink or colored pencil to grade your work.

~Puts STARS by the problems that you got 100% correct (including all work shown & appropriate sign, labels, etc)

~Slash through any incorrect answers (do not cover up your incorrect answer!)

~Write the correct answer next to your incorrect answer.

~Correct your work or identify your mistake.

~Ask questions during work time if you don’t understand where you made your mistake.

~ASK QUESTIONS!

~Seek help during SOAR!

Daily - Review (outside of class):

~Go back over your homework assignment we graded in class earlier today.

~Rework all incorrect problems. Your goal is to work it correctly and end up with the correct answer.

~If you do not get the correct answer – ask a friend to help you figure out where you went wrong OR ask your teacher the next day!

IXL

~Use IXL to reinforce any concepts you continue to struggle with OR to reinforce the topics you are experiencing success.

~You are welcome to do 6^th grade, 7^th grade, and/or 8^th grade topics
