This week in Reading:

• Read at least 20 minutes per day
• Continue RAZ reading
  • READ 1 RAZ book and complete quiz
  • See if you can record a few minutes of yourself reading
    • When selecting a book, you need to make sure you select the "Read" option, not "Listen"
    • There should be a button that looks like a microphone at the top of the page
    • Click on it and begin reading!

• Click on this link and watch the Daily Cafe "reading at home for parents" introductory video by Gail Boushay
  • After watching the introductory video, click on the "Watch Video Series" button at the bottom of the page. Continue to watch and follow along with the series, working your way up to reading for 30 uninterrupted minutes! (You can also click here for the full video series)
• Ensure you can log in to Overdrive and begin reading a book!

This week in Writing:

• Journal : In full sentences, write about a RAZ book you read.
  • Write the title of the book and name the author.
  • Think about:
    • the setting
    • describe the character
    • events; funny, scary, sad
    • If nonfiction write some facts you've learned
    • draw a picture of something you read and write a caption
    • write your opinion of the book and support with evidence from the book
• By Friday, if you're able to, try taking a picture of your journal entry and email it to your teacher :)

• Focus on multiplication:
• Take a look at our new program for Math and Language Arts called IXL
• Click here to watch a parent introductory video on IXL
• Work on Assigned Mathletics - Multiplication Strategies section
• Check out these Math Antics video lessons on area and perimeter (watch more than once if needed!)
• Complete the 3 worksheets on Perimeter, Area and 2 Problems
• Optional: Try more Mathletics Multiplication and activities from Multiplication booklet (above). This booklet can also be found on the Mathletics website.
