What is Tri-M?  Tri-M, once named the “Modern Music Masters”, is the international honor society for music students in senior high school. It is a division of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). The National Association for Music Education is an association of nearly 70,000 music education professionals nationwide who realize the importance of motivating students and recognizing music achievements. Tri-M gives our most dedicated students space to make the most impact on the future of the Seneca Music Department

What does Tri-M do?  Many things!  Tri-M serves the school and community in various ways.  Some of these include:  sponsoring concerts, providing ushers for concerts, providing soloists/ensembles to perform at school events, honoring people in the community for their contributions to the school music program, community service projects, creating an awareness of the importance of school music, and much more.

What about the fun stuff?  While service is its own reward, our Tri-M chapter meets during the school year to plan additional chapter activities including social events, attendance to musical performances outside our school, and the like. The greatest importance is the chance to share experiences in the joy of music.

Distinguished honors! Tri-M members will receive member cards, official pins, and a cord to wear at graduation. Additionally, being elected an officer is a great privilidge and learning experience that will deepen a variety of skills. Involvement in Tri-M is a resume builder in the same way that other honor societies present themselves (NHS, Italian Honor Society, etc.) and is taken as seriously in applications for future endevors.
