I spent part of the summer of 2017 reading a book given to me by the administration of my former school, Wekiva High. (Thanks, Mrs. Erickson!) This book, Teach Like a Champion by Doug Lemov, has amazing teaching techniques that can be learned and utilized individually so that you don't feel overwhelmed trying to implement a hundred different strategies within your classroom. We all do great things as teachers. These strategies just push us into the upper echelon of our profession.
Yes, this document is 105 pages long. No, you don't have to read it in one sitting. Pick one strategy that appeals to you and see if it's something you want to add to your repertoire as an educator. Take it. Make it your own. And SHARE IT if you find that it makes your job easier. We've all heard the phrase "it takes a village." This concept is of paramount importance to helping teachers reach their full potential, too!
