Mrs. Christina Gary has been teaching in the public school system for 22 years. She spent the first decade of her career teaching English I and II, a variety of social studies courses, and health and pe at Crowley High School. She also served as the head volleyball coach and assistant softball coach during her tenure at CHS.

In 2010, Mrs. Gary moved to Apopka, Florida (right outside of Orlando), where she taught English I, English II, and ESOL and served as the head volleyball coach and assistant softball coach at Wekiva High School. While at Wekiva, Mrs. Gary coached Special Olympics, served as the English II Professional Learning Community chairperson, and founded and chaired the Wekiva High School Positivity Committee. Mrs. Gary is a 2011-2012 DA Student Learning Gains bonus recipient, a 2014-2015 Florida High Impact Teacher, a 2015-2016 Florida's Best and Brightest scholarship recipient, and the 2015-2016 Wekiva High School Teacher of the Year.

Mrs. Gary's passion in life is inspiring students to love learning. She continues to grow in her craft by seeking out and attending professional development opportunities that spark innovation and creativity within her soul, opportunities like visiting the Ron Clark Academy (2018) and attending the Get Your Teach On national conference (2022).

Mrs. Gary is married to Coach Bryan Gary, who was also a proud member of Southside High School's inaugural staff (and who was selected as Southside High School's 2018-2019 "Teacher of the Year"). They are parents to daughter Mylaina, who earned her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine in December 2020, and nine-year-old Liam, a fourth-grade student who loves watching YouTube videos, learning coding, and playing Roblox and Minecraft with his friends. (Although, Liam's current obsession is all things Pokémon!)
