Dear LPSS Educators:
As we honor and celebrate you during Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to take a moment to thank you and tell you how much your dedication and hard work are appreciated.
This year brings an even higher level of appreciation for our talented and dedicated teachers. Due to extended closures of schools throughout our state and nation, you’ve had to adapt very quickly to a new way of teaching and learning. You have had to shift from traditional brick-and-mortar operations to a remote/virtual learning model in a matter of days. I am proud of you and the manner in which you quickly adapted and rose to this challenge.
In addition to providing online learning resources and lessons, you have participated in professional learning and collaboration via virtual platforms. Regardless of the many challenges we face, you remain committed to supporting students during this time.
Teachers are the backbone of this district. You are the reason students are able to reach their full potential and be successful in life. Thank you for your commitment to this profession and to our students.
As we honor and celebrate you this week, take time to acknowledge the significant impact that you have on our students, their families, and on our community. You are building the future, one student at a time.
Thank you for teaching!
Respectfully,
Irma D. Trosclair, Superintendent
