Ceramics

Ceramics I

In Ceramics I, students will learn basic hand building and wheel throwing techniques in order to create both functional and sculptural pottery. We will also explore several surface decoration techniques to help make each piece of pottery unique.

In addition to creating artwork, students will also learn about several different professional artists and discover different ways to talk about their artwork and the work of their peers.

In order to encourage students to become global citizens, course content is based on the Colorado Academic Standards of:  visual observation and comprehension, reflection through oral and written critique, art creation through invention and discovery, and also visually relating and connecting through transfer.

Materials fee: $30 - This is paid through infinite campus, if you have questions or concerns please see Ms. Cruz in the bookkeeping window.
