Volunteer Your Time

In this program, students have the opportunity to create and fully develop their own product or service. Real entrepreneurs and business experts serve as volunteer coaches and mentors guiding student teams through the Lean Startup processes of developing hypotheses about a business concept, testing those hypotheses, adapting, and further iteration. The program also includes foundational business topics such as marketing and finance.

The Littleton Public Schools EPIC Entrepreneurship Program needs:

Coaches - Subject matter experts to teach specific lessons in the classroom.
Mentors - Offer student team(s) strategic guidance & wisdom through their start-up.
Board of Advisors - Offer teams strategic evaluation; decision makers on funding.

Financial Support / Sponsor

The Littleton Public Schools EPIC Entrepreneurship Program needs:

Annual financial support to fund startups
Provide funds to cover student fees

Coaches

Roles:

Teach in the classroom
Subject matter expert lending skills to teach specific portion of the curriculum

Volunteer Characteristics:

Engaging personality, authentic, passionate about their expertise
Excited to work with students and share their knowledge
Willing to practice
Comfortable prioritizing the most important concepts to teach
Corporate or entrepreneurial

Mentors

Roles:

Offer the student teams strategic guidance and wisdom
Expectation of monthly communication with the teams is recommended (more is possible depending on the teams needs and point in the process)

Volunteer Characteristics:

Engaging personality, authentic, passionate about their business expertise
Patience and willingness to serve as a guide to teens
Entrepreneurial experience important

Board of Advisers

Roles:

Offer teams strategic evaluation at Pitch events
Attend MVP Pitch & Final Pitch Competition
May serve as sponsors

Volunteer Characteristics:

Experience running a business
Entrepreneurial background helpful
