Welcome to the Arapahoe High School Theatre Department!

We have a very active Thespian Troupe here as well as a variety of classes students can take. CE Theatre Appreciation and Stagecraft are introductory Theatre classes in acting and technical theatre, respectively. CE Technical Theatre includes our advanced Costuming, Lighting, Sound, Stage Management, and Set Design disciplines. CE Acting and CE Theatrical Production are our year-long, audition-only classes. In Acting, we will explore a variety of acting techniques and styles to expand our toolkit as performers. In Theatrical Production, we will look to produce a variety of productions from shorter, student-written works to full-length performances. Our CE, or concurrent enrollment, classes are in conjunction with Red Rocks Community College. Like a version of AP Theatre, all students in these classes have the opportunity to get college credit for theatre through RRCC.

I am entering my eighth year teaching here and am excited about the new productions for this year. This fall, the Thespians will be presenting Dracula in a new adaptation I wrote over the summer. This spring, our musical will be Disney's Frozen.  I believe these plays fit very well together and am excited for the new ways they will allow our students to explore their creativity. 

I have my MFA in acting from the University of California at Davis, and I taught high school theatre in New Mexico, Nevada, and California for 6 years until I came to Colorado in 2013. I'm excited to meet and work with the incredible AHS students this year!

#WHY I TEACH - I teach to gather and encourage others to create performances that enrich their audiences. I believe this allows us to connect, communicate, and ultimately understand each other on a deeper level.
