Each group of students selects and focuses on some non-traditional and ecological materials and waste used in construction in their own country
In the waste management plan of the Czech Republic use of products made from construction and demolition waste (for example, shredded concrete) in the construction sector is promoted.
The following commodities are included: metals, paper, plastics, glass, construction and demolition materials, energy by-products, discarded waste, used tyres and waste rubber, waste batteries and accumulators.
Between 2015 - 2020 the plan was to increase to at least 70% by weight the rate of preparing for re-use and the rate of recycling of construction and demolition waste and other types of material recovery, including backfilling, in which materials are replaced.
The Czech Republic uses the funds from the EU as much as possible for the construction and modernisation of waste infrastructure.

In France, the building sector generates more than 40 million tonnes of waste every year, 75% of which is inert, 23% non-hazardous and 2% hazardous waste.
At the same time, this sector consumes large quantities of resources to meet the needs of renovation and new construction.
