We are technological students in STI2D (SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGIES OF INDUSTRY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT). Our course lasts two years and will enable us to obtain the technological baccalaureate. This corresponds to a European level 4.
We are led to discover and understand the functioning of technical systems in industry or everyday life thanks to IT (Technological Innovation) and I2D (Sustainable Development Engineering).
Mathematics and physics are also an important part of our learning because they are indispensable for the different parts we have to work on such as the resistance of materials, different energies, communication and signals, etc.
During our last year, we will be led to choose a specificity among the four proposed:
Architecture and Construction
Energy and Environment
Technological Innovation and Ecodesign ;
Information and Digital Systems ;
This type of study requires a sense of autonomy and a taste for teamwork. We learn mainly through projects or activities.
Once we have obtained our diploma, we can move on to a BTS (2-year diploma) or a BUT (3-year diploma which replaces the DUT at the start of the 2021 academic year). For the best of us, we can join engineering schools (5 years) or a few specialised schools. It is also possible to join a preparatory class for the Grandes Ecoles (2 years) reserved for STI2D baccalaureate holders, which allows them to do an engineering school.
