Policies

• Must attend the basic number of tournaments (This is only the Minimum)

  • Two one day Saturday Tournaments (Example: WBFL League Tournament)

  • Two weekend tournaments including Saturday and Sunday (Examples: Jack Howe, Bargain Belt, Damien, Damus)

  • Must be completed by the beginning of February 2026

• Must attend one of the opening tournaments of the year

  • WBFL

  • Jack Howe

  • Bargain Belt-Required for Novices in LD, Public Forum, and Congress

• • 3 unexcused absences allowed per semester

    • Student can let us know beforehand within 24 hours

    • Must be a student who emails us not a parent

    • Must have a reason

    • Must be approved by the coach

    • First absence-discussion

    • Second absence-talk to student

    • Third Absence-talk to parent

  • Exception made if student participating in sports and communicates with coach beforehand

  • Tardies-2 tardies count as an absence

***Missing practice for homework or tests is not a valid reason.

• This is our big travel tournament for the year

• There will be an initial deposit for the trip placed by mid December. This will be $300 and a non refundable deposit. This is not the total charge for the trip.  Loyola will cover registration and judging costs. Parents will be asked to share in travel and hotel costs. 

• Parents will be provided with 3 choices for airplane flights. Parents will need to book the airplane flights and communicate that with the coaches.

• Students will only be allowed to go to the tournament if they complete the required tournament schedule of 2 weekend tournaments and 2 one day tournaments by February.  (deposit will not be refundable if a student does not complete this)
