Here's what you can expect from there:
Mrs. Coe will reach out to you via email.
You can try one of our flex block or after school meetings, meet the team, and see if we are a good fit for you!
Let Mrs. Coe know what time commitments you are comfortable with!
Officially join the team and make some quality friends!
When do you meet?
Our core team meets every Wednesday after school from 2:45-4:15pm. These meetings are workshop based. Members will be able to share out and get feedback on their latest poems.
Often times, we have visiting slam poets come in to host special workshops! We always invite new inspiration and fresh eyes to hang out with us. Feel free to join in on the fun and make some connections!
Want to join us but don't have that much time after school? Whether you want to try it out or decide to join us officially.. come join us during flex block! We will primarily schedule flex blocks as needed for extra practices or practice performances. We treat these like an open rehearsal so new friends can see what we do!*
*We would love to see you in our audience and get your feedback! Maybe, you will even be inspired to join us!
We have a special poetry meeting on the first Wednesday of each month! On those days, we meet at Coffee & Cotton @ Mill No. 5 after school from 5:30pm-9pm to take part in the open mic and slam competition!
Due to limited space, please email Mrs. Coe at scoe@lowell.k12.ma.us so she can save you a seat!
It gives us a place to process our emotions and write about them.
It allows you to speak up about something you believe in.
It creates a community of other writers who can help you improve yourself.
The more we write, the more we talk about what we are writing about. The whole process brings us closer together.
It builds confidence!
