Merit System

For students in grades K-8, the classroom teacher will handle routine discipline issues through their classroom management system along with the Merit System that was developed with PBIS and, when needed, the support of the administrative staff.

Merit System

1. Each student begins with 100 merits

2. Those students with less than 95 merits will be placed on student probation.

3. Students on probation are not allowed to attend or participate in extra-curricular activities, student activities and extracurricular field trips.

4. Any student falling below 90 merits will be subject to further disciplinary action.

Work Service Program

1. Students may earn back merits through the Work Service Program.

2. Students may not earn merits during class time and work must be done at school.

3. K-3 grade 20 minutes earns back one merit. In 4th-8th grade 30 minutes earns back one merit.

4. Work serve time will be arranged between the student and homeroom teacher.

5. All merits for participating in any activities must be completed on the week before the scheduled activity and no more than 2 merits per day may be earned.

All school rules apply to students on their way to school, while at school, on the way home from school, and at school events, even if not during the regular school day.
