Head joint in the mirror: Use a mirror to practice making a sound on the head joint. Your embouchure (mouth shape) look like this:
Assemble the flute, using the "Holding Your Instrument" video to remind you where to place your fingers.
Practice nos. 1 & 2 on page 4 in your book. You can play the excercises with the note F or Bb

Keep working on sound. Try to get as focussed a sound as possible on just the headjoint. Be patient and keep checking your posture!
