One of the ways you can extend your classroom instruction outside of the walls is through video conferences. Zoom is an industry leader that many have come to rely upon including Long Branch Public Schools.

If you are looking to simply join a Zoom meeting, you do not require a Zoom account.
If you are looking to host a Zoom meeting, you will need to create an account. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Zoom has removed the 40 minute limit to your conferences if you sign up with your LBPS email address.
To join a Zoom video conference, simply click the link that was provided to you. See this video for more.
After joining a Zoom meeting, you will be shown a preview of your video feed. You can select to join with or without video. You will then be prompted for your audio preferences. See this video for more.
You have several options when you are looking to schedule a Zoom meeting:

Yes, and you should always have one if your link is accessible to the public (i.e. Social Media post). When you were scheduling your meeting (see question above), you had the option of enabling password protection for your meeting. Be sure to keep this password off social media as well otherwise you may have uninvited guests. See here for more.
Besides setting passwords, you can make use of 1) Automatically generated meeting IDs and 2) the Waiting Room feature. See here for more.
Depending on how you prefer to schedule your meeting (see the question above), you may choose to share your Zoom meeting link in several ways. You most likely already have a way to share your link (Class Dojo, Remind, Google Classroom, etc) See this video for one possible way.
If you are the host or have been given co-host privileges, you can control the names of participants. When possible, encourage your participants to use only their first name. If they are having difficulty, you can change it for them. See this video for help.
