Dear Parents,
Each month, we focus on a different trait to help our students develop important life skills.
This month we are focusing on empathy- the ability to understand and care about how others are feeling. Empathy helps students build strong friendships, solve conflicts peacefully, and create a more supportive school community. Throughout December, students will learn how to: Recognize emotions, listen with care, understand other's perspectives & show kindness. Families can help build empathy at home by: Talking about feelings during daily routines, reading books that explore emotions and discussing characters' perspectives, model kind, understanding responses when someone is upset, & encouraging children to think about how their actions make others feel.
Please take a few minutes this week to talk with your child about what empathy means to them.
Let's work together to empower our students to be empathetic & compassionate at school and beyond!
Books to promote our theme:

We appreciate your support in reinforcing these traits at home. Together, we can help our students grow into caring and responsible individuals 🥰
