What are the CAST Interim Assessments?
Optional tests that provide meaningful information to guide instruction and support student learning
Designed to be versatile: they can be administered to students in either a standardized (e.g., benchmark) or nonstandardized (e.g., formative) manner
Can administer any interim assessment to any student regardless of the student’s enrolled grade level
Non-adaptive (fixed number of items)
1 hand scored question
Available for use anytime during the school year
1 additional version will be available in each grade/content area in each of the next two years.
1 version available in 2023-2024
2 versions available in 2024-2025
3 versions available in 2025-2026
