Identify the part(s) of your plan you were able to implement Our first class was set for March 4 and ended on May 9, 2019. Attached are all the agendas. Lastly, we presented to the board. I have included the final product that was sent to the entire staff.
How successful was your plan of action at addressing the challenge? I was hard working on a document together and some personalities were stronger than I originally thought.
Which stakeholders and association practice or program were impacted? Administration, school board, and fellow teachers.
How do you know ? We received emails regarding this project.
How were your four chosen competencies used in the implementation of your project? The four competencies worked well with this project. They were intertwined them all to make this project successful.
What obstacles, if any, did you encounter? How did you address them? When strong personalities wanted to dictate what others should do and schedules conflicts. Cindy and I discussed the problems after class and addressed them in the following meeting and worked as a group to resolve any conflicts.
Given the outcomes, describe any changes you might make to the Capstone project’s plan of action. I would have had the group learn about more about Teacher Leadership Institute first. This way they would have understood why we structured the project the way we did.
Final Product and Teachers working
Presentation to Board- I asked for us to be put on the May 2019 School Board meeting agenda. I was extremely nervous to presents. Mostly because I wanted the school board to recognize the importance of TLI. My job was to introduce the Teacher Leadership Institute. Cindy was introducing our project and then each participant shared their thoughts on the process and product. We received great feedback from the Superintendent and the School Board. I specifically remember our Superintendent saying he wished he had this when he started working in our district and he can envision giving this to new hires.
That night, I posted the picture taken at the school board. It got likes and comments. The next day, Cindy sent the email that included the PDF above to the association members. I've included those emails below.
