We all bring different perspectives to the table. By listening with an open mind, this can help others to see that we need to be aware of other points of view. This is important to learn from others and listen to their perspectives.
How will your leadership leverage the strengths and address the needs of diverse stakeholders to support the plan of action, develop capacity, broaden decision-making, and learn collaboratively? I am building relationships with our administration and school board. As this was my second year as president. We began by talking to our Superintendent and education committee (additional building principal and school board member) about creating a teacher handbook that would become a quick reference guide. They loved the idea and supported our classes by allowing us to offer 12 OPI units for the project.
How will you use collaboration, questioning, data, and reflection during the implementation of your action plan? Next we asked new teachers and building principals what they wanted in the handbook. This would then become our needs assessment. We decided we needed more people to be involved in the group process. So we sent out the survey to the entire district (Evidence below). We sent an email to those who would be included in the process.
How will you address obstacles that you may encounter in implementing your plan? Cindy and I will meet often to discuss obstacles and how to address them.
How will you know if your action plan is successful? By finishing a completed handbook and remarks from staff members.
