What is Social Emotional Learning?

SEL is the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

At Lockhart High School, we believe in meeting the needs of the whole child, which includes social and emotional learning.  Lockhart High School utilizes Franklin Covey's Leader in Me Curriculum.  In these lessons, your student begins to define the characteristics that make them leaders in and outside of the classroom environment.  We believe ALL students are Leaders in their own right and we are committed to help them achieve their greatest Leadership Potential!
