Bring your gently used, pre-loved kids clothes to the Clothing Swap, and take what you need (for free)!
Locke on the Block is a community street fair that brings together Locke families and the broader Harlem neighborhood for a day of connection, creativity, and fun.
We welcome local organizations, businesses, and community groups to be part of the day by hosting a table, leading an activity, or sharing information about what you do.
There is no fee to participate.
We invite community partners to join us at no cost as part of our commitment to building strong, accessible connections between families and local organizations.
Participating is a chance to:
Connect with hundreds of local families
We are anticipating 2,000+ attendees across the day.
Engage directly with kids and families
Interactive tables and hands-on activities are especially popular and memorable.
Build awareness and relationships
Many of our families are eager to discover local programs, services, and businesses.
Be part of a meaningful community event
One of our primary goals is to foster new connections across our school and neighborhood.
Promote your organization through our network
Participating partners are featured on our website and often highlighted in event materials.
There are a few ways to be involved:
Register to reserve a table in our schoolyard or on the block. We strongly encourage interactive experiences, such as:
Hands-on demos
Mini workshops or clinics
Games or creative activities
Makerspace-style stations
If a full activity is not feasible, you are also welcome to share information about your organization and connect with community families while you:
Offer a festival-themed activity such as balloon animals, face painting, or a small craft
Distribute swag or a festival-themed item (helium balloon, cotton candy, etc)
Please note that previous partners report significantly more engagement when they offered interactive stations.
Partners may choose to donate a raffle item (typically $250+ value). This is a great way to:
Support the school community
Gain additional visibility through event recognition
The fair runs from 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Set-up begins in the morning (exact timing shared after registration)
The event takes place outdoors (rain or shine!) on a closed city block and in the schoolyard
Most areas are in direct sun, so we recommend bringing your own 10'x10' EZ-Up tent!
Tables and chairs can be provided if needed and requested in advance
Locke on the Block is not just a fair, and it's not a fundraiser. It’s a community-building event.
We are intentionally creating opportunities for:
Families to discover local resources
Kids to try new activities
Organizations to form lasting connections
We encourage partners to think beyond traditional tabling and consider how to create a welcoming, engaging experience at their station.
