*LNC POLICY for class withdrawal*
Students who withdraw from a CPCC course, or are dropped for any reason, without enrolling in and completing a replacement course during the same semester will receive an “F” on their high school transcript.
Exceptions:
The CPCC class is taken in addition to a full seven-period LNC schedule and the counselor is notified before withdrawal.
The student has an approved medical withdrawal from CPCC and notifies the counselor prior to dropping the course.
Students who begin a CPCC course are expected to remain enrolled for its full duration. Courses may not be dropped due to difficulty, as all CPCC courses are college-level and academically rigorous.
Rationale:
This policy ensures that students understand the commitment required when enrolling in college-level coursework. It also maintains the integrity of both the high school and college transcript, prevents gaps in course schedules, and reinforces the expectation that all students are capable of meeting the academic challenges presented in dual enrollment courses.
