LNC’s Dual Enrollment Policy
Any CPCC course that a student registers for will be placed on the student's LNC and college transcripts.
Any student who withdraws from a CPCC course or is dropped for any reason without replacing it with a new course in the same semester will receive an “F” on their high school transcript.
Students must register for at least half or more of their total CPCC courses in the first semester and may complete the remaining courses in the second semester. (See student schedule for examples)
Exceptions:
A medical or compassionate withdrawal is approved by CPCC. You must notify your counselor before the class ends. The appeal must be completed and approved before the end of the grading period or your “W” will remain an “F” on LNC’s transcript. Once you provide documentation from CPCC, your LNC transcript will be updated.
Course Enrollment
Students who enroll in CPCC courses are expected to remain enrolled for the duration of the course. Courses may not be dropped due to difficulty, as all courses offered are college-level and inherently rigorous.
Rationale:
This policy ensures that students understand the commitment required when enrolling in college-level coursework. It also maintains the integrity of both the high school and college transcripts, prevents gaps in course schedules, and reinforces the expectation that all students are capable of meeting the academic challenges presented in dual enrollment courses.
Students are required to complete quarterly check-ins and progress updates to allow the CCP Coordinator to monitor progress and provide support when needed.
You must fill out a change request form and meet with your HS Counselor before dropping any courses at CPCC. If you drop a course and do not replace it with another class in the same semester, you will receive an “F” on your HS transcript.
