Students who do not ride school buses are not allowed on the school grounds before 7:40 AM (8:40 AM on Mondays). Students not riding school buses are not to loiter at local businesses. Once a student arrives at school they may not leave until school has been dismissed at the end of the day unless they check out through the office. All students need to depart campus in a timely manner. There is no direct supervision after 2:30pm.
The first 10 minutes and last 10 minutes of every period is considered academic “prime time.” Students will be encouraged to not be allowed to leave class during prime time unless there is an emergency.
Any student with permission to leave the room during the class period or performing a duty that takes him/her through the halls must be signed out through the 5-Star App AND must carry a physical Hall Pass
If a student needs to leave campus, the parent/guardian must physically sign the student out in the office, indicating both the time of departure and reason for leaving. Parent/guardian must also be prepared to show ID. If the student returns to school the same day, they will need to sign in at the school office and get a pass to class.
The telephone in the office may be used in cases where a student needs to contact a parent, i.e. sickness, injury, etc. Teachers will not excuse students from class to make telephone calls except in emergency or unusual situations. Students may ask to use the office phone during break or lunch.
If you need to contact your child to give them an urgent message, please be aware of the following:
● Student cell phones may not be used until the bell rings at the end of the day. If used, seen or heard during the school day, the student may need to check their phone into the office. We encourage students to make arrangements with their parents in the morning before school.
If you need to get a message to your student during the school day, you must call the office at (808) 474-3500 x4372. We cannot guarantee your child will get a message if left after 1:00 p.m.
● In an emergency, please call the office at (805) 474-3500 x4372 indicating it's an emergency and staff will deliver the message or call your student up to the office to speak with you.
All visitors to campus must check-in at the main office and wear a visitor’s pass at all times. Students who are not currently enrolled at Paulding may not visit classes or attend any school functions until the final bus leaves campus in the afternoon.
After 8:05 am, students are not permitted to run into the main parking lot at any time. All items being dropped off need to be taken directly to the office. Students will be called at break or lunch to come retrieve the items. At no time are students or staff allowed to accept any food service deliveries on behalf of students (i.e Door Dash, Uber Eats, Cafe Runner, etc).
If a student is to take any medication at school, arrangements must be made through the office. Click HERE to download and complete the authorization form. Take the form to the front office to complete the process. Students may not carry medication unless they have prior approval by the school nurse.
Library books can be checked out in the Library Learning Commons (LLC). Books are due 3 weeks after checking them out, but can be renewed to extend that time frame. Students are responsible for the condition of the books and a fine will be assessed for any damaged or lost books.
