Meet Mrs. C
(Physical Education Teacher)
Hi, my name is Sara Clarin. Students can call me Mrs. Clarin or Mrs. C. I am excited to teach PE at both Harloe and Grover Heights Elementary Schools. Physical Education has so many benefits and the students need it more than ever. I want their PE experience to have opportunities to be active, to learn fundamental physical skills, and to be a part of a team. I value giving them the structure and discipline necessary to conduct a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. I want them to have a PE program where they are engaged and excited to participate. In order to accomplish these goals, I believe it is important to make positive impactful connections with the students, staff, and community at each of the school sites. My husband and I settled on Central Coast after attending Cal Poly. Our oldest is now in his 4th year at CSUMB and our daughter will be a freshman at Arroyo Grande High School. We have been lucky enough to raise our children in the Five Cities area and the Lucia Mar School District.
Meet Mrs. Allen (Physical Education Instructional Assistant)
Hi my name is Cameron Allen, students call Mrs. Allen. I have worked and volunteered at Harloe since 2011. I have two girls who go to Harloe - 4th and 6th grade. I have my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and I have a passion for teaching students to enjoy moving their body for a lifetime. I love that PE offers new opportunities for students to communication, collaborate, and celebrate.
Sports has had a huge impact on my life. In high school, I played water polo at Agoura High School. We had a very talented team, and made 2 CIF finals appearances. My senior year we were Division II CIF Champions. I was then recruited to play water polo at U.C. Irvine under Julie Swail (Silver medalist and Olympic Announcer). I graduated from U.C. Irvine with a degree in Social Ecology and a minor in Education.
I am still involved in our local water polo community. When I am not working with students at school, I am refereeing water polo matches. I officiate a wide range of levels from youth (age groups), high school, and college. I am also our area’s Instructional Chair, because when you love to teach…you teach!
Meet Mr. Bales (Physical Education Instructional Assistant)
Hi! My name is Trevor Bales. Students can call me Mr. Bales or Mr. B. This will be my second year in Lucia Mar being a PE Instructional Aid and I couldn’t be more excited. I just graduated from San Diego State University in May of 2023 with a bachelors in Kinesiology. Staying active and living a healthy lifestyle is something that I find very important and I want to try to show the students how easy it can me to live a healthy lifestyle. I ran all four years of high school and just recently was named a Cross Country and Track coach at Arroyo Grande High school and I am very excited to give back to a team that gave so much to me. I went to Elementary School at Harloe K-6th and attended Lucia Mar schools until I graduated from AG High School so I’m very glad to be back. I’m very excited to see what this school year will bring and can’t wait to start!
