Physical Education

at Harloe and Grover Heights Elementary Schools

Physical Education has so many benefits, and our students need it more than ever.  I want their PE experience to have opportunities to be active, to learn fundamental physical skills, and to be a part of a team.

We are a part of one big team in PE, and it is my expectation that students come to class ready to be a member of PE T.E.A.M.  This is our acronym for:

T-Teachable

Ready to learn and participate with proper footwear.

E-Effort

Give their best effort.

A-Attitude

Have a positive attitude.

M-Mindful

Be mindful of their own choices and actions.

When students come to class ready to be a member of the PE T.E.A.M. along with following our school wide behavior expectations of R.O.A.R. at Grover Heights Elementary:

Respectful

On-task

Accepting

Responsible

or our school wide behavior expectations of B.E.E.P. at Harloe Elementary:

Be safe

Being safe always means being free from harm.

Everyone is Respectful

Being respectful always means being polite and cooperative.

Everyone is Responsible

Being responsible means being dependable and trustworthy.

Perseverance

Perseverance means always trying your best and trying again.

then we will be able to have a PE program where they are safe, engaged and excited to participate.

Please ensure your student is properly dressed for PE with appropriate footwear and clothing. In accordance with the student handbook, no Crocs, Uggs, or sandals on PE days.  Students wearing a dress or skirt on PE days are asked to please wear shorts underneath.

The PE staff values giving students the structure with clear expectations necessary to conduct a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. We want them to have a PE program where they are engaged and excited to participate.  In order to accomplish these goals, we believe it is important to make positive impactful connections with the students, staff, and community at each of the school sites.
