Individuals in the stage crew are selected based on a written applications. These individuals are divided into two groups - the backstage crew and the tech crew. The full stage crew usually consists of between 15-20 students, based on the production's needs.
Individuals in the backstage crew are responsible for ensuring scene changes happen smoothly. They help actors get into position, change set projections, and move props. They work as a team to make sure the performers have everything they need to put on a great show!
The tech crew works from the tech balcony behind the auditorium seating. These people operate lights, sound, and even help create the technological plan for the show. We are fortunate to have 7th and 8th graders willing to take the lead in tech crew, mentoring younger students who are interested in learning about theater technology. Our soundboard and lighting board are both student-run during performances.
