Star football running back Saquon Barkley for the Giants is out for the season, and will most likely never play the same again. He tore his ACL in the second half of the Giants VS. Bucs game, by safety Mike Edwards. He is getting surgery for the torn ACL, and once you tear it, you never play the same again. Going from the top running back in his rookie season, to now rank ten, and the longer he’s out for, the more other running backs improve, and move up ranks, is telling you that Saquon Barkley, THE Saquon Barkley, is not going to be the same Saquon we know.
But the question is, what’s going to happen to the Giants team? From being a Giants fan, I know they aren’t the best team in the NFL, but they were doing all right with Saquon on our side, and Eli Manning, the Giants quarterback since 2004, as well. Last year at the last game of the season, Manning decided to retire. Only having Saquon was just enough to get a few games out of us, but now that he’s gone, people think the Giants may have some problems. It’s what some people think, but it doesn’t look like that’s what is happening
We’ve won 3 games, (I know that isn’t great, but it’s not bad for the Giants) and are seeming to be alright without the running back. Daniel Jones, being unpredictable whether he will throw a touchdown, or off to the sidelines next to him, when the person he’s trying to throw to is in the end zone, has been doing some good, making up for the missing place of Saquon Barkley. Evan Engram, is a decent tight end, catches a lot of passes, also pitching in for making up for Saquon.
Another common question is “will he back, and will he play the same?” It’s not positive, but Saquon will most likely be back on the playing field, but will he play the same? Most people who tear their ACL in the NFL, do not play the same. Of course, Saquon will still have the potential of a professional football player, but he will not be jumping over 3 guys at a time and racing to the end zone, with the entire other team chasing after him 25 yards back. He will still get some yards in, but will most likely not be the Saquon we all know and love.
