For your final project, you will be composing a pop song. Below are the requirements for the final project.

Your song must contain the following elements:

• Intro 

• Verse (two times)

• Chorus (two times)

• Outro / Ending

In addition, you may use any of the following:

• Pre-chorus

• Bridge

Your song must contain an intro and and ending. 

The intro and ending should be anywhere from 1 - 4 bars in length.

These usually borrow music from the verse or the chorus.

Does not need to contain every single element from the verse or chorus - can be limited to just a single instrument or drumbeat.

Your verse must contain the following:

1. Must be 8 bars long.

   1. Feel free to use the same 4-bar progression twice in a row.

2. A drumbeat

   1. It is recommended that you add a drum fill in the last bar to move to the chorus.

3. A bass line that uses at least one octave leap and at least one leading tone. Feel free to use more than one of each of these, but only one of each is required.

4. Chords, riffs, or ostinatos.

5. A melody.

   1. The melody should vary slightly between the first verse and the second verse.

Your chorus must contain the following:

1. Must be 8 bars long.

   1. Feel free to use the same 4-bar progression twice in a row.

2. A drumbeat that is different than the verse.

3. A bass line that uses at least one octave leap and at least one leading tone. Feel free to use more than one of each of these, but only one of each is required.

4. Chords, riffs, or ostinatos that are different than the verse.

5. A melody.

   1. The melody can be the same between choruses.

Your final project is due by the end of finals week. All projects must be uploaded to Schoology to receive credit.
