Class overview
Welcome to Music Major! This class is a crash course in Music theory, Music History and Aural Theory. It's a fun, interesting, authentic class.
Here's the ultimate goals of the class:
1) Define and Refine the relationship between written music and aural sounds.
2) Identify, explain, manipulate, and create tonal, rhythmic, and harmonic patterns within music.
3) Place music within the larger context of society.
Hi, I'm Mrs. Villante!
This is my 12th year teaching in Lower Merion; my 6th as the orchestra director. I hold two bachelors of Music - one in Music Education, the other in Violin Performance. I also hold a Masters Degree in Music Education. My favorite composer of all time is a tie between Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky, and if I could play another instrument it would be either piano or French Horn. I prefer waffles over pancakes, unless they're lemon pancakes. My happy place is the beach, I am a full fledged Harry Potter nerd, and I'm freakishly good at parallel parking. When not teaching, I enjoy spending time with Mr. Villante and our son, Connor, trying new recipes, and binge-watching the Great British Baking Show.
